چکیده
Forming aluminum foam to the desired shape while retaining its pore structures is essential for manufacturing products. Recently, a press forming process that performed after precursor foaming but before solidification has been proposed. In this study, track individual pores throughout immediately foaming, X-ray radiography inspection was applied. A thin used, and constrained transmission direction. It shown that, although some coalesced with other pores, did not collapse during forming. addition, porosity of evaluated from images constant Some retained their position changed by material flow generated These results show foam, can be shaped without pores.

Survey of the Use of X-ray Beam Collimator and Shielding Tools during Infant Chest Radiography
Background The use of shielding tools and X-ray beam collimator has extensively been advocated as effective methods to reduce radiation exposure to patients underwent radiological procedures. The aim of this study was to address the use of these protection measures during infant chest radiography. Material and Methods 348digital and/or analogue infant chest radiographs were reviewed that perfor...
متن کاملFlexible Forming of Thin Aluminum Alloy Sheets
Flexible forming is a sheet metal forming process with the application of soft material tooling. In this study, flexible (silicone rubber, SR, and styrene butadiene rubber, SBR) and semi-rigid (polyamide 66, PA) polymeric materials were adopted to make several upper dies which were used in combination with aluminium lower dies. Stamping operations were performed on a thin aluminium alloy sheet ...
متن کاملMetal Foaming Investigated by X-ray Radioscopy
The use of X-ray radioscopy for in-situ studies of metal foam formation and evolution is reviewed. Selected results demonstrate the power of X-ray radioscopy as diagnostic tool for metal foaming. Qualitative analyses of foam nucleation and evolution, drainage development, issues of thermal contact, mold filling, cell wall rupture and more are given. Additionally, quantitative analyses based on ...
متن کاملDensity measurement of shock compressed foam using two-dimensional x-ray radiography.
We have used spherically bent quartz crystal to image a laser-generated shock in a foam medium. The foam targets had a density of 0.16 g/cm(3) and thickness of 150 microm, an aluminum/copper pusher drove the shock. The experiment was performed at the Titan facility at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory using a 2 ns, 250 J laser pulse to compress the foam target, and a short pulse (10 ps, 35...
